The big annual LERN conference this year in San Diego is looking to be bigger than ever. Registrations so far are way ahead of last year. It’s not too late to join all the excitement and discover the new trends, courses, and the most advanced practical how-to information in the field of lifelong learning.
Even our overflow hotel, the Hyatt on Mission Bay, shown in the photo, is beautiful. Here’s the latest news on the conference. Weekly updates at www.lern.org/conference
-Still Room in Hotels
-Who is Coming So Far
Still Room in Hotels.
Our overflow hotel, the Hyatt on Mission Bay, is just 1.5 miles away from the Paradise Point conference hotel. The Hyatt is also located on Mission Bay, close to all the sights and sounds.
And the room rate is actually lower than that at the Paradise Point at just $159 per night. You also qualify for the lower conference registration fee PLUS get a FREE preconference all day seminar.
To get from the Hyatt to the Paradise Point, you can take our daily shuttle, walk, bicycle, get a ride with others staying at the Hyatt, or come and go as you wish with Uber/Lyft.
If the Hyatt sells out, our ace conference director will line up another hotel for attendees, and you will also get the lower “in LERN Room Block” conference registration fee PLUS free preconference all day seminar.
You will be given, either in hard copy and/or on your mobile app, recommended sessions to attend.
This has been the biggest “complaint” for 40 years – – too many good sessions from which to choose.
The recommendations will be by:
*Whether you are a First Time attendee or Repeat Attendee
*Your institutional setting: Recreation; Community Education in Public Schools; Community College; or University.
Who is Coming So Far
Registrations are far ahead of last year, but there is still room. We have people coming from 40 states plus Washington, DC; from 5 Canadian provinces; AND we have two people from New Zealand, in Auckland and Wellington!
All our major institutional settings are represented. Right now registrations are pretty equal among Recreation Departments, 18%; Community Education in public schools, 17%; and Universities, 17%. Then there are Community Colleges at 44%; and finally Associations at 1% and Other at 3%.
When you register for the conference, be sure to register for one of the FREE preconferences of your choice. Preconferences are filling up, so we need you to register for a preconference.
If preconferences sell out, we will set up more or alternative FREE sessions for you. But you will not be allowed to walk into a preconference without having registered for it, thus denying another person their seat.
