Text Messaging Coming

Father and sonCropText messaging as a way to communicate with participants is coming, according to attendees at the LERN Annual Conference. Professionals in lifelong learning are starting to consider and use text communication, maybe the next trend for the field.

Programs using this technique say that it is important to allow students to opt-in to this form of communication so that they don’t receive any unexpected text messages.

Current uses include communicating weather closures, class cancelations and changes to the dates and times of classes. But the popular medium, especially with younger adults, could also be used as an incoming marketing tool for potential participants inquiring about your program.
