Dean of Continuing Education – Heartland Community College

We invite applicants for a full-time position to provide leadership to Continuing Education (CE). The Dean is responsible for processes and resources that ensure the College provides relevant, high quality personal enrichment and professional development courses that effectively address the needs of District 540.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to
– Establish, monitor, and communicate CE priorities, ensuring input from administrative team, alignment with institutional priorities, and attention to constituent needs
– Develop annual CE operational plan in conjunction with administrative team; ensure establishment and implementation of strategic, data-informed actions that address identified goals
– Ensure CE effectiveness by monitoring progress toward goals, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, appropriately directing progress toward improvement opportunities, and regularly reflecting on CE metrics
– Develop and oversee annual CE budgets, incorporating multiple measures of program effectiveness including cost analyses
– Supervise the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and termination of staff
– Create an environment for best practices to thrive by serving as a role model for leadership, establishing high expectations for people and processes, and promoting a positive culture and program success; foster positive morale and ensure a welcoming culture that values diversity and inclusivity
– Promote and strengthen external and internal relationships that allow growth and collaboration for CE programs; represent CE across District 540 and establish links with appropriate local, regional, and state entities
