More Information on benefits
1.Free Webinars.
Monthly webinars, averaging six a year, have practical how-to information with both LERN professional staff presenters and also the leading practitioners in the field.  As many individual members associated with the organization’s membership may attend.

2.Print Newsletters.
Specific to a theme or focus, the print newsletters are how-to, with both articles and fundamental articles. Six times a year. Recent issues have included Pricing, Latest Brochure Trends, Writing Course Descriptions, Needs Assessments, and New Successful Courses.

Each member organization receives two copies, one for the Primary Contact, and one to share with other staff.

3.Monthly Email Newsletter.
Survey results, tips and news happen quickly and are delivered quickly to all individuals included in the organization’s membership.

4.Dashboard Analysis.
New! Pioneering! The LERN Dashboard has the 6 most important data points for your organization. Each organization gets an analysis comparing its own data with the results of other organizations nationwide, along with a LERN Ideal Benchmark if relevant.

The data is provided by size of community, and by these institutional settings: Recreation Departments; Community Education in Public Schools; Community Colleges; Universities; and Other.

This means your LERN Dashboard can be compared with other organizations in the same institutional setting and size of community.

5.Virtual Gatherings.
A pandemic innovation so popular we have continued it post-pandemic. A panel of 3-4 practitioners from around the country report on current success, issues and their outlook moving forward. We hold Virtual Gatherings 2-3 times a year, online.

6.Interest Groups.
Another new unique benefit. Individuals associated with the organization’s membership can sign up for as many Interest Groups as they wish. They get to network with others in that Interest Group, receive info specific to the interest area, and have a LERN staff consultant moderate the groups.

Interest Areas:
-Marketing
-Personal development Programming
-Professional development Programming
-Operations
-Contract Training
-Summer Camps
-Management and Leadership

7.Survey Data.
The most requested and popular annual survey, now in its 30th year, is the Fall Registrations survey, which practitioners use to project annual registrations and compare their registrations to other organizations in the same institutional setting.

8.Benchmark Recommendations.
Another benefit not available from any other source.  Members call it “the LERN model.”  It is around 30 benchmarks recommended for organization to apply. The newest 2024 benchmark is what to put on the cover of the brochure each session/term/season.

9.Leadership and Presentation Opportunity.
Independent research has found that the presenter and the presenter’s organization benefits even more than the attendees. With LERN webinars, conferences and Virtual Gatherings your members get to network with the best in the field. Like tennis, you only get better playing with the best.

Membership also entitles individual to join a leadership Council or committee.

10.Member Discounts.
Member discounts on specified events and other services.
