Market Trends for 2025 - 2026
“AI is affecting contract training in every sector, only AI is influencing each sector differently,” noted Jo Ann Hall in her opening keynote for the 2025 Contract Training Conference in June.
The major trend is Upskilling, with a big + plus. “We have to move like our feet are on fire,” Hall advises. Hall is the foremost authority in North America on marketplace changes for contract training in colleges and universities. The needs for upskilling in the workplace are outpacing what contract trainers in colleges and universities can deliver. We have to develop new competencies and train our instructors to address those next-level business needs.
We need to understand the evolving role of work in people’s lives, Hall stated. Gen X, now in their 50s, worked for personal time. The Gen Y and Gen Z younger generations want jobs with both a purpose and pay. The younger employees and their employers now have to address burn out, mental health, and other wellness issues. But one thing is certain, she concluded, training is a top priority for both employees and employers moving forward.
