Cathy Noonan of the City of San Jose, California, is the new Chair of the LERN Board of Directors for 2014-2015. She succeeds Gabriele 
Janes of the Canadian Marketing Association in Toronto.
At last year’s conference Noonan gave sessions on “Lessons from Retail” and “Reaching Diverse Audiences.” For many years she has co-led the preconference seminar on Youth Programs and Summer Camps.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Cathy’s experience and expertise as our elected leader,” noted William A. Draves, LERN President.
Noonan and Janes, from a recreation department and association respectively, represent the diversity of institutions in LERN and the strength of having lifelong learning professionals from different settings in LERN.
Prior to joining the LERN Board of Directors, Noonan was Chair of the Recreation Council. She led this year’s Senior LERN Leader planning retreat in Tucson last month.
