A few of the leading associations are close to “pulling the trigger” and jumping into the next hot new growth area for association education: asynchronous teacher led online courses with a start and end date.
LERN has talked to four big associations over the past year about developing and offering their first online courses, and right now a few associations are very close to working with LERN and getting into this hot new growth area. Continuing education programs in higher education have been doing online certificates and other high profit online programs for five years, but so far associations are still stuck in lower margin online offerings.
