LERN’s curriculum for the field of lifelong learning programming was advanced significantly last month with a 10-year record.
New certifications premiered for the Certified Marketing Planner (CMP) and the Certified Professional Programmer (C2P). The six course curriculum now represents the most comprehensive and intensive training curriculum for the field of lifelong learning programming ever. The six courses start with the fundamental Program Management Institute and then offer five additional specialties:
-Marketing
-EMarketing
-Contract Training
-Advanced Programming
-Operations and Staffing
The curriculum provides professional training for all the top skilled positions in a lifelong learning program.
LERN TRANSITIONS
At the same time, LERN continued its transition to be more inclusive of Gen X and Gen Y.
This year’s Institute was the last Institute for LERN’s top presenter, Julia King Tamang, who will be going on a three year retreat next year. It was the last Institute where Julie Coates, LERN’s nationally known researcher on learning, was a full time presenter.
Suzanne Kart took over the reins in running the Institute from Greg Marsello, who has handled the logistics for the past 20 years. And a team of four new Gen Y staff members at LERN assisted in running the Institutes, as well as receiving training by participating in the Institutes.
With the LERN curriculum LERN is encouraging every lifelong learning program to have at least one staff member trained in operations, marketing and programming. Every professional level staff member should also be a CPP after attending the Program Management Institute. Next year’s LERN Institutes will be in Savannah April 12-16, 2015.
