Help Us Celebrate

More than 100,000 new lifelong learners are generated for your class program and others every year by LERN. It makes your association one of the largest lifelong learning organizations in North America.  Two big milestones for LERN this year. Help us celebrate by sending two of our key staff a word of thanks for their contributions to the field.

Julie Coates Has 50th Anniversary

She is the ‘fabulous brochure babe,’ world’s oldest baby boomer and the foremost authority on Gen Z. Help us celebrate Senior Vice President of LERN Julie Coates’ 50th Anniversary working with LERN.  Julie can research anything.  She updates you annually on print brochure trends, demographics, learning styles and generations.

At the same time, Coates turns 80 this fall, becoming one of the longest full time professionals in class programming. Email her at coates@lern.org and tell her thanks for her pioneering work.

Gale Hughes First LERN Retiree

She makes it all happen. From behind the scenes, and in-front with customer service, Gale Hughes has worked at LERN for around 30 years. Her special skill is being y/our librarian, archiving and then being able to find anything we have done for decades.  She also does design work, including photoshop; audio editing; updating your membership data, and much more. For our staff, we are losing our funniest staff member. Her emails and texts are classic and make us smile.

You will see her facilitating sessions at our Annual Conference in November. She will retire on Dec. 31.  Email her at gale@lern.org and tell her thanks for all her work, ideas and contributions for your program and the field.
